“Nothing feels as fresh in your mouth as your teeth after a good cleaning.” Teeth cleaning is often put off or delayed because “things come up in our lives.” This is, of course, an unfortunate fact of life. However, routine teeth cleanings are an essential part of any dental treatment plan. Not only does regular teeth cleaning help prevent gingivitis and gum disease, but it enables the dentist to closely inspect a patient’s oral cavity, while helping to maintaining optimum health of the gingival soft tissues. Introducing children to the value of having their teeth cleaned twice a year, will start them on the path to maintaining good oral health throughout their lives. We use our teeth to chew our foods hundreds of times in a single day; maintaining their cleanliness with a teeth cleaning two or more times per year will help preserve their longevity for years to come.
